Team Spotlight: SDSU Aztecs

The San Diego State University Women's Volleyball team has had a solid start to their season. The Aztecs boast an overall record of 5-4 going into tonight's match. No conference play for San Diego State yet, however, their first Mountain West conference is this weekend.

The Aztecs finished their 2012 season with a 23-8 overall record and a 13-3 conference record, tied for first in the Mountain West. The team made it to the first round of the NCAA Tournament and is looking to make a repeat appearance in 2013.

Leading San Diego from the sidelines is head coach, Deitre Collins-Parker, whose volleyball resume is as impressive as them come. The 2012 Mountain West Coach of the Year's experience as a player and as a coach is the perfect mix for success. This is the type of collegiate coach you want leading your team to another victorious season.

The Aztecs will take on cross-town opponent, University of San Diego, who is currently ranked No. 2. San Diego state will rely on their strong set of returners to pilot the team in a tough match. The experienced coaching staff will support and help the Aztecs focus on their game.
