Current Uniform Printing Rules

Each year, new rulings are brought to the world of volleyball that dictate how a jersey can be decorated. We have created this guide to keep you up to speed on the most current uniform rulings from the NFHS and USAV.

The NFHS and USAV are the two most common governing bodies that our volleyball team customers play under. It is important to understand the uniform printing rules under each entity.

NFHS:

  • Numbers are required on front and back of the jersey.
  • Number on the front of the jersey must be at least 4 inches tall and can either be placed on the left chest or centered.
  • Number on the back of the jersey must be at least 6 inches tall and centered. Legal numbers are 0-99.
  • Numbers must contrast in color to the main body color of the jersey.

USAV:

  • Numbers are required on front and back of the jersey.
  • Numbers must be centered on the front and back.
  • Legal Numbers are 1-99.
  • Numbers must contrast in color to the main body color of the jersey.

For the most part, the rules for NFHS and USAV are similar but with important differences. Note the difference in number sequence and front number placement.
