About Adidas

Adidas was founded on August 18, 1949, in the small town of Herzogenaurach in Bavalia, Germany, by Adolf "Adi" Dassler, following a feud at his family's shoe company between him and his older brother Rudolf. From there, Dassler embarked on his mission to provide athletes with the best possible equipment.

While originally focused on just shoes, they eventually branched out into socks, shorts, and other apparel, consistently producing innovative products to make athletes better. From Herzogenaurach to the world: the 3-Stripes kept expanding to more and more sports throughout the years. This is reflected in the broad range of athletes who trust Adidas to help them improve.

While the future of sports is unknown, Adidas will not stop shaping it. They are continually developing new innovations, including Climacool and Adizero in their men's and women's Adidas volleyball apparel, as well as ADIPRENE® cushioning, midfoot TORSION® SYSTEM, and ENERGYSLING™ for comfort and control in their volleyball shoes, all the while making sure they give athletes the tools they need to be the best player possible…just how Adi wanted it.
